Strangers In Wonderland

With Siouxsie Sioux's solo album coming out, I can't help but listen to old Siouxsie & the Banshees and hear traces of her influences all around me. (I never really considered it until now, but Karen O. is so totally Siouxsie Sioux with a different sort of charisma and the gothic tendencies washed away.)
I can't help but see parallels between Strangers In Wonderland (MySpace) and those original gothic post-punkers. But this Stockholm-based duo draws, too, on a cheesier, more passe (sorry) breed of Swedish pop: Abba. Yes, to me, Strangers In Wonderland is the perfect melding of post-punk and the out-of-date disco-pop sleaze of the world's biggest band, Abba.
So if nothing more, at least be allured by these two as they're treading ... interesting waters.
