LA Priest

LA Priest, the awesome Loughborough DJ who remixed for Envelopes, just released a 12" for his latest composition, "Engine." I like this song a lot. It's bouncy, a little gay club, a little Euro, and a little swanky, really. It sounds like Fat Boy Slim collaborated on this or something ... there's an old school U.K. techno vibe that this tune's built upon, but there's also a timelessness that you won't be hearing from many trend-followers today.

"Swing Youth" is all Y.M.O., Tokyo circa 1980, distorted, and lo-res. Really refreshing to hear something as jovial yet relaxed and casual as LA Priest's stuff.
