Heidi Berry
Folk threaded through a gauzy veil of late 80s production techniques and filled out with robust, round vocals. At times, Berry's timbre reminds me of Sarah McLachlan.
I think I prefer the first two LPs—the Creation ones—for their unadorned nature and plainness, but the 4AD efforts are lovely, too, albeit a little more of the moment and trendy; they sound like 4AD releases.
"Up in the Air," from Love, is what I'm sharing here, largely because it's a remarkable cover of the Hüsker Dü song.
Of the records available on Spotify, I'd pick Miracle as the best.
