The Outsiders

The Outsiders was a Cleveland band, and I'm a Cleveland boy, so I obviously have a vested interest in them.

Interesting garage group that brought a little blue-eyed soul suave and bubblegum glint to the sound. Somewhat sanitized at times, but there's an easy swing to all their stuff, a cheeky foolhardiness that lends their otherwise vanilla sound some bite.



As they worked their way towards LP3, they got increasingly more crooning, but they never lost that prickliness that gave them a little extra something.

 
Bafflingly, none of their albums have been reissued since they came out in the late 60s! What gives?
