Buzz
That Sadistics post got me thinking about other Japanese music from the era and from the same gene pool, so here's an encore of sorts.
Let's take a look at Buzz, a folk group from the 70s that leaned heavily into the adult-contemporary sound of the era, a sort of Far East Seals & Croft or Air Supply, maybe even Alessi Brothers. Sun-bleached and sea-salted soft rock with icy harmonies left, right, and center, and a shiny wax coating to keep it protected from the messy, mucky outside world.
The connection to the Sadistics? Nobuyuki Takahashi (高橋 信之), elder brother of their drummer, Yukihiro Takahashi (高橋 幸宏), started the band.
